Aaron Lee and the Ukulele by Bike Tour THIS THURSDAY

Aaron is a songwriter who has put on concerts all along the east coast to promote sustainable living and local communities. He started in Maine and rides his bike from concert to concert and is finally arriving in Georgia this November 18. The concert will take place on the second floor of the Globe at 8 PM and there is a suggested donation of $3-5 that will benefit BikeAthens. CounterSPACE: Possibilities for Civic Agriculture in Athens, Georgia
“CounterSPACE” is any space—farm, garden, market, kitchen or tabletop—that weans our community from its dependence on an unsustainable, global industrial food system. We envision a future landscape that supports a food culture that is sustainable and inspiring, accessible and inclusive, collaborative and outreaching, delicious and fun! CounterSPACE is a collaborative university-community initiative to generate Civic Agriculture in Athens, Georgia.

GeorgiaBikes! fights for 3 Foot Passing Law

Right now, our most urgent goal, in partnership with our sister organization the Georgia Bikes ALliance, is to hire a lobbyist for the upcoming legislative session. As you already know, Georgia needs a “3 Foot Passing” Law (http://www.gban.org/system/files/HB988whitepaper.pdf). If you would like to see this bill passed, we have a perfect giving opportunity for you. To assist the Georgia Bikes Alliance with hiring a lobbyist to fight for better bicycling laws, please visit their website
Any amount you can contribute will go a long way toward ensuring that “3 Foot Passing” becomes the law in Georgia. Because of your generous contributions, we are ready to expand Georgia’s bicycling facilities, improve public awareness of cyclists’ rights and responsibilities, and create a safer environment for all types of cycling. Bike Recycling Program Info ![]()
Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8:30 and Sundays from 2-4:30
Chase Street Warehouses

BRP workdays are held Mondays & Wednesdays from 6-8:30 and Sundays from 2-4:30 at the Chase St. warehouses. Volunteers need not have any knowledge of bicycle maintenance; just be willing to get their hands dirty repairing, tuning up, cleaning, and outfitting bikes. Feel free to bring your own repair stands and tools although it is not necessary that you have these items to participate.
BikeAthens' Bicycle Recycling program, a cooperative venture with local social support agencies, distributes reconditioned bikes to individuals in the Athens community who are underserved by private and public transportation. We rely exclusively on volunteers to recondition the bikes.

Annual Holiday Bikes for Kids![]()
The Bike Recycling Program will be starting the annual Holiday Bikes for Kids program in a few weeks. We are looking for good kids bikes to refurbish, and for volunteers to help us repair them. Our goal this year is 60 kids bikes! More info on the website,
Another Last Bike to Market Day!
The Athens Farmers Market has decided to extend its season through December thanks to the great crowds and warm weather!
