Prince Avenue and Oconee Street Public Input Opportunities for Corridor
Studies Oct 25

The Planning Department will be looking for input at the last of two
public meetings held on October 25, 6-8 PM, at the Dougherty Street
Governmental Building. These public input meetings give you an
opportunity to voice your opinions on how Prince Ave and Oconee Street
should be designed. The Prince Avenue Corridor Study includes some of the
elements of the CAPPA (Community Approach to Planning Prince Avenue)
proposal from several years ago, as well as other reports such as BRAC for
the Navy School. Both studies will be displayed for drop in review at the
Planning Department until November 3.

The Prince Avenue Corridor Study is now available for public review and
comment.

on November 3. If approved it will then be placed on the Commissionâs
agenda to be discussed in November and voted on in December. For more

BRP Volunteer Opportunities

BRP workdays are held Mondays & Wednesdays from 6-8 PM and Sundays from
2-4:30 PM at the Chase St. warehouses. Volunteers need not have any
knowledge of bicycle maintenance; just be willing to get their hands dirty
repairing, tuning up, cleaning, and outfitting bikes. Feel free to bring
your own repair stands and tools although it is not necessary that you
have these items to participate.

BikeAthens' Bicycle Recycling program, a cooperative venture with local
social support agencies, distributes reconditioned bikes to individuals in
the Athens community who are underserved by private and public
transportation. We rely exclusively on volunteers to recondition the
bikes. For more info: brp [at] bikeathens.com
