BRP needs kids bikes!

It's that time of year again and we are looking for kids bikes to
refurbish for our Holiday Bikes For Kids (HB4K) drive. If you have bikes
that your kids have outgrown, please consider donating them to our
program. We'll refurbish them and give them to underprivileged children in
December to brighten up their holiday season. We are accepting bike
donations at our BRP bike shop during normal hours, or contact
brp [at] bikeathens.com if you can't make it down then. We're also looking for
monetary donations to help buy new helmets to distribute with each bike.
We pay $5 each for helmets so every donation helps. Thanks for helping
kids have a great holiday this year!

Sign the petition from the League of American Bicyclists

A new federal laws was proposed to deny bicyclists rights to certain roads
on public lands, including those with speeds over 30mph where some
bicyclists would prefer to ride. Sign this petition in support of your
rights to the road:

Holiday Bikes for Kids drive!

Join in the efforts to brighten many childrenâs holidays with a gift of a
bicycle and helmet! In mid-November, the BikeAthens Bike Recycling
Program (BRP) begins refurbishing childrenâs bikes only. BRP reconditions
the bikes, and schools and social service agencies distribute them to kids
in need, just before the Holidays. We rely exclusively on volunteers at
our warehouse shop located in the Chase St. warehouse district.
Volunteers need not have any knowledge of bicycle maintenance; just be
willing to get their hands dirty repairing, tuning up, cleaning, and
outfitting bikes. The shop is currently operating under the following
expanded time schedule:

o Sundays: 2 â 4:30PM
o Mondays & Wednesdays: 6 â 8:30PM
o Saturdays: 9:30AM â 12:30PM (December 3, 10, & 17 only!)
o Last day of B4K project: Sunday, Dec. 18
