Come on out this Thursday, December 21, 5:30pm to the Bike Recycling Program shop located in the Chase St. warehouse district. Weâll have some beer and pizza to celebrate a great year. We welcome anyone to come on out, whether you are interested in being a volunteer, have volunteered in the past, or just want to learn more about BikeAthens. And if youâre just there to talk a bit and help with the pizza and beer consumption, well thatâs OK too. http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/195613747197160/ *********************************************************** BRP needs Volunteers and Kidsâ Bikes BRP relies exclusively on volunteers at our warehouse shop located in the Chase St. warehouse district. Volunteers need not have any knowledge of bicycle maintenance; just be willing to get their hands dirty repairing, tuning up, cleaning, and outfitting bikes. We will finish the last bike of our Holiday Bikes 4 Kids drive Wednesday, Dec 21. BRP is donating these kidsâ bikes to schools and social service agencies that distribute them to kids in need, just before the Holidays. We're also looking for monetary donations to help buy new helmets to distribute with each bike. We pay $5 each for helmets so every donation helps. The shop is currently operating under the following time schedule: o Sundays: 2 â 4:30PM o Mondays & Wednesdays: 6 â 8:30PM (closed for Holidays Dec 25 - Jan 1) For more info: brp [at] bikeathens.com *********************************************************** Volunteer on MLK Day Sign up to volunteer on MLK Day, though HandsOnAthens. http://volunteer.truist.com/hng/user/events/project.tcl?listing_id=10493502380&event_id=10491861869&return_url=%2fhng%2fuser%2fevents%2fone.tcl%3fevent_id%3d10491861869%26number_participants%3d1%26keywords%3d%26zip%3d%26radius%3d0%26julian_event_date%3dall *********************************************************** Seeking Complete Streets Policy Coalition partners The Transportation Policy Committee is working with a broad Coalition to write the Athens Complete Streets Policy.
