In case some of you are interested in seeing bike accident patterns in other places, my brother put together a map of all bike accidents in Vancouver, BC:  http://bentframe.sandbox.activestate.com/. The map has some nice capabilities, including zooming in to specific spots to see greater detail of exactly where the accident was reported. You can also change the time over which the data are presented. All accidents in British Columbia are managed by a single, Government-run insurance agency (ICBC), which made it quite easy for Eric to compile the data. The map generated quite a bit of buzz in the local community (search "Eric Promislow bike" and you'll pull up most of the links).
